About The Stickies.NET Project
Stickies.NET is a simple application that allows you to create little notes on your desktop. If you have used physical paper-style Post-It notes before, then you will probably find Stickies.NET useful as an equivalent tool electronically.

Here are some of the things that you can do with Stickies.NET besides taking quick notes:

- Send stickie notes to a colleague or a friend on the network.
- Protect your stickie notes with passwords to prevent unauthorized viewing.
- Encrypt your stickie data file to guard against information hijacking.
- Create quick or recurring reminders to remind you of important tasks.
- Set priorities for your tasks.
- Customize Hot Keys to launch predefined actions.
- Mark your tasks as done.
- Categorize your stickie notes to groups.
- Automatically expire your stickie notes to ease maintenance.
- Customize the colors and fonts of the notes to your choice.
- Use standard text-editing features to edit your stickie notes.
- Print your stickie notes.
- Load text from a file or save the contents out to a file.
- Create and apply your own favourite themes.

Background
Stickies.NET was something I wrote for fun when I first started to learn Windows Forms programming in .NET. The idea was conceived after I noticed my colleagues filling up their monitors with yellow Post-It notes to remind them of tasks and phone numbers. Also, being a developer, I like to copy sections of source codes out to Notepad to keep them as backup copies before I do any modifications.

That is how I figured out a simple application like this would help. However, as more and more people use it, I began to receive more requests for features. I also began to grow attached to it. Now, whenever I have the time, I will try to incorporate more features into this little project that I started off in year 2001.
